Description
Carli Suspension
Carli Extreme-Duty Ball Joint Package
The Carli Extreme-Duty Ball Joint Package is designed to upgrade the front end of Ram 2500 and 3500 4WD trucks with stronger, longer-lasting ball joints built for demanding use. This package includes upper and lower ball joints engineered to improve durability, reduce common wear points, and maintain precise steering and suspension movement.
The upper ball joint functions as a floating king-pin style pivot point and is designed to handle lateral load. Carli’s upper design adds a second wear surface by allowing the hat of the pin to contact the housing, helping distribute load while retaining a factory-style failsafe that prevents the pin from pulling through the housing. The lower ball joints use a liner-free design with a bronze wear surface, disc spring preload, safety washer, and snap ring to keep the wear surfaces tightly controlled for consistent performance.
Key Features:
-
Extreme-duty upper and lower ball joint package
-
Designed for Ram 2500/3500 4WD trucks
-
Upper ball joints use a pin and housing design with added wear surface
-
Factory-style failsafe helps prevent the pin from pulling through the housing
-
No sleeve isolating the wear surfaces, reducing a common failure point
-
Viton seal helps protect the joint from environmental contaminants
-
Lower ball joints use a liner-free design
-
Bronze wear surface with disc spring preload
-
Safety washer and snap ring help maintain proper internal preload
-
Carburized and heat-treated wear surfaces for increased hardness
-
Corrosion-resistant gray coating helps protect against the elements
Notes:
-
Ball joints are built with carburized wear surfaces featuring a case-hardness depth of approximately 20 to 25 thousandths.
-
The manufacturing process uses copper masking before carburizing so the wear surfaces receive the intended hardening treatment.
-
Designed for 4WD applications.
